FG Public School Taxila Cantt was established in 1976. Before the construction of a purposeful building the institution was set up in S-IV Qtrs for the wards of P-871 heavy rebuilt factory HIT as a make shift set up. School shifted to the present building in 1985 as a single section school. It was upgraded as a double section school in 1998 to cater for the growing need of admission. 5 x more sections were added in 2006. The building of school is purpose built, spacious and situated at a prominent location inside HIT Taxila Cantt. Earlier it. Federal Government Educational Institutions Directorate (Cantonments/ Garrisons) is the governing body of this institution headed by the Director General Federal Government Education Institutions (Cantonments/Garrisons). Mrs. Mussarat Islam was the founding principal who remained in office from 1976 to 1982. Currently, office of the principal is being held by Mr. Nasarullah Khan Niazi.

Along with the association of the experienced educators, I will continue my work to maintain the legacy of the school by building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners.
